About
AIS
Located in Erie, PA, Automated Industrial Systems, Inc.
(AIS) was founded in 1977 as a manufacturer of custom
assembly machines. In 1978, we built our first laser
marking system for the electronics industry. These systems
combined custom parts handling equipment with state
of the art lasers to produce high speed semiconductor
marking systems. By the mid 80's, virtually the entire
industry was converted to AIS's laser marking systems.
In 1986, AIS began developing our pad printing product
line. This process included the development of our model
340, 480, and 600 pad printers. Our model 6500 plate
making system was also introduced to allow our customers
to make inexpensive printing plates quickly and easily.
During this time we also developed our patented CI series
pad printing ink which is capable of passing MIL spec
permanency requirements. AIS spent the next several
years manufacturing and distributing both laser and
pad printing systems to the electronics industry worldwide.
Today AIS continues to manufacture pad printing equipment
and supplies. Through the employment of our in-house
technical sales staff, in conjunction with factory-trained
manufacturer's representatives, AIS will work with you
to recommend the right equipment for your application.
AIS has a fully staffed engineering department with
mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineers providing
us with the ability to custom design equipment in response
to customer requirements. We also have an applications
lab and graphics department to assist our customers
in evaluating their marking application.
AIS also maintains complete machining and fabrication
services through our in-house machine shop as well as
qualified vendors. The quality of machined and fabricated
parts is controlled through standard SPC and vendor
qualification and auditing procedures. Every part is
100% inspected to engineering prints before being released
to assembly. The AIS assembly floor utilizes a work
cell format to provide efficient and consistent manufacturing
of our products. Our mechanical and electrical assemblers
and our electronic technicians pride themselves on producing
a reliable, quality machine every time.
Upon completion, every machine is subjected to final
inspection. Each is thoroughly tested for compliance
to design specifications and our manufacturing standards.
We also encourage our customers to come to our facility
for training and final approval of the equipment prior
to shipment. This training is provided at no additional
charge.
AIS continues with its customer oriented approach with
our service and spare parts department to support you
once your equipment has been delivered. We pride ourselves
on our superior customer service.
As you can see, the customer is the driving force behind
AIS. Every employee is dedicated to showing you why
you should "Make Your Mark with AIS".
